In August 2001, two and a half years after the accident, I finally took the plunge and began work on a book, telling the full tale of my ordeal, rescue and rehabilitation for the first time. A further two and a half years later, Life and Limb finally hit the bookshelves, and I breathed an enormous sigh of relief.
