In August 2001, two and a half years after the accident, I finally took the plunge and began work on a book, telling the full tale of my ordeal, rescue and rehabilitation for the first time. A further two and a half years later, Life and Limb finally hit the bookshelves, and I breathed an enormous sigh of relief. As a taster you can read the Synopsis and the Prologue of Life and Limb here. The book is available from good bookshops (in paperback only, hardback is now out of print) but you can buy signed here at the reduced price of £9.00 + P&P. Click Buy Now at the bottom of this page.

Synopsis

Jamie Andrew's rescue after five nights trapped by a ferocious storm in Chamonix has passed into Alpine legend; his survival was miraculous - but his close friend died in his arms and Jamie himself lost both his hands and legs to frostbite. The book also describes Jamie's life since he learnt to walk again on prosthetic legs - and since then he has married his long-term girlfriend, Anna, and, astonishingly, both climbed Mont Blanc again and ran in the London Marathon.
