My good friends Ruth and Ulric Jessop recently took part in X-Alps, billed as the world's most extreme race and were followed by a BBC film crew.

The Scottish Book Trust, in conjunction with BBC Scotland, are running a project called Days Like This. The idea is to get as many people in Scotland as possible to send in stories about a day in their life which is in some way, meaningful, outstanding or in any way special.
